B. Leekley

My avocation is creative writing. My psychological suspense murder mystery novel The Son Who Paid Attention, set in small town northeast Illinois and in the upper peninsula of Michigan in 1973 and 1990, was published in 2010 by Whiskey Creek Press in both paperback and e-book formats. Click here for Amazon reader reviews. The epigraph of the novel, which by my oversight was omitted, is: A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

With my publisher's consent, I am letting people read more than half of The Son Who Paid Attention online before deciding whether to buy the e-book or the paperback to read the intense second half. The links to the free chapters: Chapter 1, which is a sample chapter at my publisher's website (together with sample reviews); Chapters 2-6; Chapters 7-12; Chapters 13-20, and Chapters 21-26. Use your browser back arrow to return here. All of these excerpts aside from Chapter 1 are hub pages titled Excerpt 1 to 4, and they are also linked below.

I retired in 2005 after 28 years as sole owner of Leekley Books, a used book business founded by my parents in 1961 in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois.

I'll turn 70 at the end of May. My wife and I currently live in Kalamazoo, Michigan. See more about me on my website.

Note that while I've been signed up at hubpages.com for over 2 years, I actually published my first hub page in November 2011.

As I write more hub pages, I expect that mostly they will be in one or another of these categories: Book Reviews; Craft and Business of Writing; Fiction; Interesting Places; Memoir; Opinions and Musings; Product Reviews; Self-Development.
